Among numerous groups that did a spectacular job this week doing cleanup along roads, in parks, and lake and creek banks, the 316 Boy Scout Troop and 316 Cub Scouts were a a significant help. Shown here they made a clean sweep of the Mays Field area and the Washingtonville Cemetery.

About a dozen groups in the Town and Village, plus plenty of individuals were out, some beginning several weeks ago along some high volume roads. The yellow Spring Cleanup Bags started to pile up about a week ago, and the Highway Department staff was at the ready, already picking the bright bags up on Saturday afternoon, and again on Sunday.
Highway Superintendent, Wayne Kirkpatrick said "Clean up was a huge success at this Point, with a higher than usual volume from previous years." He gave a shout out of a huge "Thank You!" to all who participated.
