Elizabeth DeVinko Urges Communities to Do More Than "Recognize" Veterans

ree

At the Village of Washingtonville's Veterans Day Event, Elizabeth DeVinko had kind words about continuing to help veterans have better lives, beyond hosting "Recognition" gatherings. She added that the kind of actions needed that are additionally supportive are like the previous week, when she met a veteran who did not know about Washingtonville's VFW. When she brought him there and he had a chance to meet with other vets he told her "It felt like home".

Liz gave a speech at the beginning of Washingtonville's Tuesday gathering at Veterans' Square and unfortunately it would not condense properly for the web program. When I shortened it... then it keeps replaying the video without continuing to the rest of the story. But I felt her comments were so "right on" that I'm letting it play here separately, at the end, even though it's a very shortened version, because I thought her words and actions are so important. Please check out the full event story as well.
