At Kaplan Hall, SUNY Newburgh - A Gallery Show called Introspective
Glimpses into inner thoughts and emotions through moments of calm, stress, loneliness, and contemplation are the themes of the paintings in acrylic on exhibit in the Mindy Ross Gallery. Artist Rachel Williams allows viewers to experience visually these personal times as depicted in her works, which several are a combination of portraiture and still life.
Her limited palette of browns, tans, black, gray, off-white, and white creates drama using high contrast black and white images; yet a sense of calm with tans and off-white objects.
Introspective, a solo show of paintings by Rachel Williams, offers the opportunity of reflection during quiet moments.
The fifteen works are on exhibit April 3 through June 2, 2023. Gallery hours are 8am to 8pm Monday through Thursday and 8am to 5pm on Friday. The college and gallery are closed on May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.
