Orange County Commissioner of Planning, Alan Sorensen
Sullivan County Legislature
Sullivan County Legislator Alan Sorensen , who is also Orange County Planning Commissioner, will not seek reelection in Legislature this fall.
“I am just looking to simplify a little bit and spend a little more time with my family,” he said. “I am certainly proud of my accomplishments in Sullivan County, but I am really focused on the work I am doing here (in Orange County).” Sorensen, whose fulltime job is as Orange County planning commissioner, told Mid-Hudson News that he plans to spend more time with his family once his current term is completed.
Sorensen has served on the Sullivan County Legislature for 16 years and on many issues, he is often the deciding vote.
