Skoufis Honored for His Service to Woodbury Residents

Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) was recently honored by Village of Woodbury leadership for his steadfast public service. Village Mayor Andrew Giacomazza (R-Woodbury) and members of the village board presented Skoufis with an award for his bipartisan efforts on behalf of village residents during his time in the legislature.

“As we come to the completion of my first year as Mayor, I want to thank our State Senator for his guidance and leadership,” noted Mayor Giacomazza. “No elected official can successfully navigate the ‘ins and outs’ of local government without partners at higher levels. Senator Skoufis has been a true ally and represents all of Woodbury’s residents, regardless of party affiliation. I am forever grateful for his bipartisan support.”

“I am humbled to receive this recognition from our partners in Woodbury,” said Senator Skoufis. “I won’t stop fighting to improve day-to-day realities for all local residents, and I am grateful to Mayor Giacomazza and village trustees for their dedicated partnership.”

Skoufis first got his start in public service as a Town of Woodbury councilman and has represented the town and village for a decade, across two terms in the State Senate and three terms in the Assembly. In January, he will serve in the new Senate District 42, which comprises nearly all of Orange County, including Woodbury.
