Following Last Week’s Devastating Bus Rollover Senator James Skoufis (D-Orange County) and Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R-Deerpark) will join local officials and firefighters in Wawayanda to call on the state’s Department of Transportation to finally fund a long-requested ‘crash gate’ on I-84, following last week’s devastating bus rollover that led to two fatalities and over 40 injured riders. Placed between existing exit ramps, a crash gate would offer emergency access for first responders to expedite lifesaving care.
They will be holding a press conference in Slate Hill to discuss how the crash gate can facilitate rescue on Monday.
