Town of Newburgh – Resorts World Hudson Valley is making good on its promise to open before the end of the year, with the announcement that it will open its doors to the public on Wednesday, December 28.

The electronic gaming facility at the Newburgh Mall in the Town of Newburgh will be a big plus for the region, said Steven Gross, Orange County’s economic development director.

“It’s great for the Newburgh Mall, great for the local economy, great for recreational opportunities, lots of economic activity in the Newburgh area and Orange County as a whole. And Resorts World coming to Orange County is another step in that right direction of providing good economic opportunities for everybody in the county,” he said. The casino will create 250 new full-time jobs with an average annual wage of $72,000 including salary and benefits. The facility will contribute an estimated $65 million in taxes every year to support public schools. This casino is a sister operation to the Resorts World Catskills casino in the Town of Thompson and replaces the former electronic gaming casino that was located at Monticello Raceway several years ago.
