Last Public Hearing Tonight at 7PM Re -New Comp Plan Zoning and other matters in Washingtonville

Washingtonville's Village "Southern Gateway"

In addition to several other items on the Village of Washingtonville's Agenda for tonight's Village Board Meeting - Barring any unforseen significant last minute developments the Board is planning to close the Hearing on Review of the Comprehensive Plan's Zoning portion.

Trustee, Donna Jacaruso, who is the Board's Liaison on the Comp Plan Committee. explained at their Workshop held 2 weeks ago, that it is important that they close the Public Hearing because ending the Village's Building Moratorium is dependent on its closure. A caveat she added, however, is that if any new significant issues about the Comp Plan come up they can re-open any issue as a new Public Hearing.

Also of note is that a thorough SEQRA review of it still must be done.

Planner Bonnie Franson is expected to be at the meeting to assist explaining the review and give responses to questions and letters concerning it by the public.

It may be significant that during the last Workshop Jacaruso noted that the Board had met with "a" or "several" landowners during the preceediung weeks about the landowners' concerns. At that time a resident voiced concern that if additional changes are made as a result of those meetings residents will not have the opportunity to respond to them if the hearing is closed at the end of tonight's meeting.
