Hudson Valley Welcomes Assemblyman Brian Maher Home from Active Naval Service

Family, Friends and constituents came to Stewart Airport on Saturday to welcome their much appreciated representative and share the hopes they have been praying for that this day he would return safe and unharmed. For the past 9 months. Assemblyman Maher has been very far from his home in Orange County where he was previously Mayor of the Village of Walden and Town Supervisor of Montgomery. and the other counties he now represents as Assemblyman in the 101st District (Delaware, Otsego and Ulster as well as the towns of Brookfield in Madison County and Neversink in Sullivan County.)

Maher spent his active service duty in Africa and the Middle East.

After lots of hugs from his wife and 3 children, and receiving well-wishes of those who came to the airport, he shared his enthusiasm about returning to the business at hand in government that he hopes to tackle. The issues at the top of his mind and for residents, he says, are affordability, an end to wasteful spending, health issues and opportunities for our youth to receive an education that encourages them to stay in the Hudson Valley.

We also hope that Assemblyman Maher can stay at his home in Montgomery in the Hudson Valley for the forseeable future and that risky overseas deployments will soon ber over for all of our heroes.
