Halloween's Witchingtonville Added a Bit of Paranormal CREEPY Fun at the Corner Candle Store

Washingtonvillians LOVE that the Corner Candle Store is all lit up and displaying its flag and flowers.

Last Monday the Corner Candle Store

 was given official "Historic Designation"

This charming building, was, and may again be area residents' favorite place

to shop for friends and family gifts, plus sit with friends in a cafe..and the beautiful

stage upstairs now has tons of potential uses for the community. Details to be announced in January

But on Witchingtonville Night, the building held a different kind of entertainment.

Fans of the Historic Building came Saturday night for Hourly Tours of the Renovated building and heard its history, and eagerly listened for any paranormal activity

When the next tour group came in, and a young man named "Gerard" who had just finished the tour, was saying how much he would like to do it again, I did a short

interview with him

"Gerard" was perfectly costumed and wore makeup and a hairstyle that totally fit the occasion. I asked whether he experienced any "Paranormal" activity during his Candle Store tour. Here is the video:

His recount of the event, and especially the part about how the

"Organ Farm" and scary words "gave him Energy" and that he would

like to do it again, but that "this is not the right time".. almost made it

seem like he might be as much a part of paranormal activity as a viewer.

Or maybe he just wanted to be fully involved in the Event.

The building is 175 years old. In the 1800's it was a cooperage that made buckets and barrels, and last night I was told that some of those barrels are still part of the rear support system.

The building's second floor also has a beautiful stage with large beams, and includes some of the original historic wood. As history would have it the Corner Candle Store is literally just a stone's throw from the new Western Branch of the Schunnemunk Rail Trail now under construction.

But is it haunted? You be the judge.
