All Hands On Deck For Greycourt Road Repaving -Consider Temporary Alternate Routes

ree

Blooming Grove - One of the most used roads in Blooming Grove and Chester is the connection parallel to Route 17M. With the heavy use it gets, it has been pushed to the top of the Blooming Grove Highway Department's remaining list of roads to be paved this Summer. Last week they tended to Barnes Road, which had waited for repairs due to their water emergency. But on Tuesday night's work session Highway Superintendent Wayne Kirkpatrick said the final leak test had been finished and their paving work there can be completed.

Today, August 14, the highway team went to Greycourt to tackle the many lumps and bumps, and even began a good chunk of the paving. Tomorrow they will continue, and with it being a long stretch, all the way from Craigville Road to just before the Camp LaGuardia entrance, they may or may not have it completed by the end of tomorrow. Check here for an update.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Kirkpatrick recommends that unless you live on Greycourt it would be best to take either of the 2 ideal alternate routes toward Chester, either by continuing on Craigville Road and turning right on Route 17m, or by taking Route 94 directly into Chester. For those who live on Greycourt, the good news is that there will be one lane open, and that with the work they did today most of the lumps and bumps are gone. Otherwise, he asked that drivers please avoid the area.
