This past week the group "All Aboard Hudson Valley, which is pushing for reliable rail transportation for those who live along the Western Shore of the Hudson River, for convenience and transportation to and from work, the Town of Cornwall passed a resolution for an official Feasibility.study:
All Aboard Hudson Valley
"Town of Cornwall Board unanimously adopts West Shore study resolution!!!
Last night the All Aboard Hudson Valley West Shore Passenger Rail Feasibility Study Resolution received a unanimous YES vote from the Town of Cornwall Town Board and was officially adopted at the town board meeting.
This is a major step forward in building momentum for modern, reliable passenger rail service on the west side of the Hudson River; connecting communities, expanding transportation options, eliminating transit deserts and supporting economic and environmental goals across the region. The excuses and decades of neglect of our transportation infrastructure cannot continue to be the status quo. Orange, Rockland and Ulster counties are ready for tangible action and meaningful investment.
Thank you to town supervisor Josh Wojehowski and the Cornwall town board for your leadership and for recognizing the importance of planning for a stronger, more connected Hudson Valley. We will continue now to engage municipalities along the west shore line to join this resolution effort and collectively make our voices heard. We already have more ready to go. Stay tuned!"
