Despite a 'little' rain on Saturday's "Pride in the Village" Day, sponsored by Prizmatica at the Veterans Park in Village Center, brought a bevy of small groups stopping throughout the day to look at the craft tents, chat with friends, and make new friends, many in rainbow attire to show pride and support of our vastly growing LGBTQ Community.. The main message of the day was the hope that "All are welcome and loved."
The weather was a rollercoaster ride, with bright sun one minute, and heavy downpours the next ...which offered the perfect opportunity to form small groups in the dozen or so tents with their impressive gifts.
A line of food trucks and Prizmatica's always enjoyable music choices, with DJ Big Chris, helped replenish energy as well throughout the day. The event was sponsored by Prizmatica, Decor, Art & Design Marketplace, located at the former historic Chase Bank at the Village Center intersection of Routes 94 and 208 in Washingtonville.

"Seven Resins"
This is an up-and-coming new business with a very bright future for Gabriel Laracuente, his partner Damaris Fuster at his right. Gabe is a tree expert and recently became certified in "Scent Development", In his future he plans to develop beautiful hand-crafted boxes (the size and shape of an old-fashioned Cigar Box ... but instead of cigars it will be filled with aromatherapy products and beautiful scented soaps like the ones at the top left of this picture.) Each soap is infused with resin and they have exotic names and descriptions of ingredients along with how each is especially beneficial. This is not just mixing a few things together, Gabe goes about it like a top Parisienne chef/scientist. Taking this on is a LOT, in addition to his full-time job. But when you love trees and making natural healthy potions it's a passion. Damaris told him this week, "Let 's do this right and get a nice canopy tent. It served them amazingly well even in the heaviest rainfall of the year. The future is so bright for this couple that soon they're gonna have to get some 'shades'.
Stab 'n Stitch

Stab 'n Stitch offers a big collection of small craft designs as well as a new and beautiful specialty endeavor to bring works that show her love of embroidery. Beautiful embroidered scenes and wildlife representations are a very popular craft in Europe, but not that easy to come by locally. We think this young lady will change that, and expect to see her at the Washingtonville Event Committee's Farm and Artisan Fair this coming Fall.

Wands & Bobbins

Delightful bags that are suitable for use either for simple daily activities or a special event.

These bags by Sarah Rogers' of Wands & Bobbins are lovely and bright, and this talented crafter has an especially useful and pretty collection of small bags that are just perfect for a cell phone plus an accessory or two - ideal for Hiking or for
going on a Tourism Day Trip
It Certainly was a Colorful Day!

Now THAT's colorful enough to make you wonder where the music is for
the "Rainbow Connection" tune.("Someday we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection, the Lovers, the Dreamers and Me.")

This little girl was having the time of her life running back and forth in the
midst of hundreds of bubbles.

And this little pup was enjoying a walk, the weather (most of the time), and having a chance to do lots of People-Watching.
Meanwhile, over at the Hook & Ladder Saloon, DJ Blizzard was DJ'-ing with music and dancing for Pride in the Village Day.

There is always something going on there. Whether it's Trivia Night, a Fundraiser, a holiday, or even a made up holiday just to get out and have some fun.
