Skoufis Applauds Opening of Resorts World Hudson Valley

“45 months ago, I had my first meeting in Albany about a new gaming center in Orange County. This morning, Resorts World Hudson Valley opened its doors in the Town of Newburgh.
“As my time representing Newburgh comes to an end in a few days due to redistricting, I'm proud to have played a significant role in bringing this project to Orange County. Yes, the house always wins but, with a project like this, the community also always wins:
Over $40 million injected into rehabilitating the blighted Newburgh Mall; more investment and tenants to follow as a result
Over 200 good-paying, local, union jobs on top of the construction jobs that were created
$3 million in new, direct community payments to Newburgh from the casino each year
$780k to Newburgh and $454k to Orange County in new, direct aid from the state each year
ZERO tax breaks
“Congratulations to Resorts World, the Town of Newburgh community, and wishing everyone lots of fun and luck at the new casino!”
