Two women were arrested during undercover spa investigations at separate "Spa's" were released on appearance tickets after they were arrested in connection with undercover investigations into prostitution and unlicensed and illegal massages at locations in New Windsor.
Choi Chun Ok, 57, of Queens was arrested at 207 Spa on Little Britain Road and Geumsun Yi, 55, of Flushing, was arrested at Sun & Moon Spa on Old Forge Hill Road, both on Wednesday, June 5.
The investigation conducted by New Windsor Police and State Police resulted in the women being charged with a felony unauthorized practice of a profession under state education law and a misdemeanor of prostitution. Police said neither held professional licenses as required by law to practice the acts performed on the undercover cops, and each also solicited the officer for sex acts.
“The shutdown of illegal businesses that affect the quality of life around town is a high priority of mine,” said Town Supervisor Stephen Bedetti. “The town will continue to use all legal enforcement powers to shut down any illegal businesses. Illegal businesses like these are a blemish on the town and we will continue to be proactive in taking action against them.”
