WOW! Look at All the Spectacular Events the Committee is Planning
Village of Washingtonville - Designing a Year's Events Program is a monumental challenge. At a June Events Committee, some of the members spent over an hour deciding which additional food vendors to contact for each event, what foods will be different and interesting, where best to place each vendor for each event, what construction materials they need for props (especially for Christmas "Whoville" and "Witchingtonville" ). And that's just at one meeting at the beginning of the Event year. Most of the Event Committee Meetings also have a pre-meeting review with Washingtonville's Mayor, Tom DeVinko. Their quality and quantity has grown tremendously over the past few years, including estimates of 5,000 - 8,000 attendees at gatherings like Witchingtonville (which won Chronogram Magazine's First Place award for last year). Whoville at Christmas and Food, Fire, Fun for Independence Day also brought huge crowds.

If you think they are so good that they throw all the pieces together for a Season full of awesome events, like magic, you are wrong. Our Village's Event Committee spends hundreds of hours over many months to contact participants that can really put on a good show. Then they spend just as many hours actually building the physical props, and working with local Police and DPW departments to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Here is the current Event Calendar from now through Christmas:
