Orange County Emergency Services Commissioner Branden Casey is going to retire from the post he has held since 2016.
Prior to serving in his current job, Casey was a state trooper and retired after more than three decades with the rank of captain.
County Executive Steven Neuhaus knows what he wants to look for in a replacement for Casey.
“We are looking for an operational leader that is going to be able to handle the numerous challenges we have on a regular basis now,” he said. “So, we are not looking for somebody who is not going to get their hands dirty. We need people out in the field like the rest of our team. So, we are going to pick somebody that complements that.”
Neuhaus suggested that they would look outside the department for a new commissioner.
