IDA To Consider Housing Applications With PILOT Terms

GOSHEN – Two housing projects are anticipated to ask the Orange County Industrial Development Agency for financial incentives.
IDA Executive Director Bill Fioravanti expects initial requests to come before the agency later this month.
“We are expecting two applications for housing projects to come in applying for incentives. It is something we have been talking about and a realm I think we need to get into responsibly. One, it looks like in Highland Falls – low-income housing project there, and a redevelopment of a senior housing project in the town of Wallkill,” he said. The IDA offers payments-in-lieu of taxes, tax exemption on building materials and mortgage tax exemptions. It was not known which the projects would seek.
