EVENT ALERT FOR Washingtonville!! Tomorrow is the first of Fun Fridays, GREASE IS THE WORD!

Updated: Jun 29, 2023

The "Ville"e Event Committee is busy creating a Summer Stew of incredulous activities. Their collective creativity is only outdone by their dedication, ability to take on hard work and the contacts in the surrounding areas they have found that can make it happen. At their June committee meeting it was an idea storm. Not two seconds go by after one member asks "Well, how can we find someone handy with a saw to make some big standing displays". Response is immediate "I know someone, I'll call him." "Any old houses that can be set up for a Ghost Walk?" Keep thinking". "How about a tour of historic homes?" One idea led to another and another, and before you know it this group has much of the list made up for a Summer of great fun filled Friday night activities (and food). This week... REMINDER... IT'S TOMORROW...AT THE LOT, by Amada's Kitchen, Movie Night with the film "Grease" at dusk (the first of 5 Friday movies).

WOW Just take a look at the size of that big screen. And no sooner did it go up than one of the Event Committee members yelled out "Do you want a bigger one? I can get you a much bigger screen." All of the shops in the Village are also encouraged to do street setups with sales. Tomorrow's Friday Fun will also include (before the film) DJ Blizzard 50's Trivia, some fun raffles, and the Hula Hoop Contest.

"We are better together!" Remind a neighbor, Call a friend.

In addition to movies the list of fun evening fillers keeps growing and growing. But if you have an idea, don't be afraid to share it with the Events Committee. Just a few of the ideas for planned activities include DJ Blizzard music from 6:30 to 8:30, a Treasure Hunt, Storytellers, Raffles, Ghost House Walk and a night of Resident karaoke. And by the way, the entertainment for Washingtonville's July 7 Independence Day, in addition to the Fireworks Display, will include (SO FAR) 29 VENDORS, so call the Village or contact Patrick Maiorino (email below) to reserve a space. It can be reserved for a food truck or or other large truck venue for $100, and $50 for a craft table.
